My mom read Louis L'Amour a lot when I was a kid, but I had never read anything by him until I read The Lonesome Gods in October. It was on the Thomas Jefferson Education reading list, and I loved it! Yes, it is a western, so there is a certain amount of gunfighting and horse wrangling. I loved it, and Erin loved it.

I think it's great that Erin likes to read the same books as you. If my kids see me reading something (aside from Harry Potter) they run screaming from my presence if I try to get them to read it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it! My grandpa seriously had the entire Louis L'amour library and I read a couple every time we visited. They aren't a bad read! And every time I see one of those books, I think of him....
ReplyDeleteMy dad has a huge collection of his books. We listened to the books on tape on the road all the time. I love them. I don't think I can read or listen to them anymore, but still a great memory!
